The challenge
A good acoustic environment is essential for a pleasant hospitality experience. At restaurant ’t Fortuin in Kontich, guests were struggling to understand each other during conversations at the table. Addressing this acoustic issue became a priority in order to enhance both comfort and overall guest experience.
The collaborative process
Together with the owner, project stakeholders and the interior architect, the acoustic challenges were carefully analysed. The aim was to find a solution that would effectively improve acoustics while fitting seamlessly into the restaurant’s interior concept.
The solution
We installed islands of BL Ceiling with acoustic horizontal insulation to reduce reverberation and improve sound absorption. This passive ceiling solution significantly enhanced speech intelligibility while maintaining a clean, calm and well-integrated design. After installation, the improved acoustic comfort was immediately noticeable and highly appreciated, both for its impact on the dining experience and for its visual contribution to the interior.
