Sustainability & circular construction
A long-term vision for sustainable building
As a specialist in metal and climate ceilings, we look beyond the product itself and focus on the long‑term impact of our solutions. From design to production and installation, we actively support our customers in reducing their carbon footprint and CO₂ emissions throughout the construction process.
The use of renewable energy and recyclable materials plays a crucial role in achieving this goal. Sustainability is not an afterthought, but the starting point of every project.
Circularity as a design principle
For Interalu, circular construction means designing systems that last. Our climate‑control ceilings are developed with a lifespan exceeding 50 years, allowing them to remain in buildings for decades. When a building changes function or layout, ceilings can be relocated or reused with minimal intervention and without generating waste.
This flexibility aligns perfectly with the principles of circular construction: preserving value, minimising material loss and extending the useful life of building components.
Designed for change
Each project—whether renovation or new build—is carefully studied together with architects and engineers. Thanks to modular systems and replaceable components, Interalu ceilings can adapt to evolving building needs. This reduces the need for demolition, limits waste and lowers long‑term costs.
Certified and measurable sustainability
Interalu supports partners working with certification systems such as BREEAM and Madaster, enabling circularity and reuse to be documented and quantified. Sustainability becomes tangible when it can be measured, verified and applied in real projects.
Interalu’s broader sustainability strategy, environmental impact and circular vision are further detailed in our Sustainability Report, providing transparency on how sustainability is embedded across our organisation and products.
